In order to do our bit to help the environment, we are focusing on 3 areas relating to the environment: Energy, Wate and Recycling and School Grounds. We now have a pupil responsible for these areas in each class (the Eectro-Rangers) and they are leading their classmates in a variety of environmental activities.

Energy
Our 'Electro-Rangers' are now carrying out spot checks of classrooms. Classes are awarded points for turning off appliances that are not in use and for shutting doors and windows when they are not needed. There will be a prize for the winning class at the end of term.

Waste and Recycling
We are currently recycling paper and ink cartridges. We have also begun to recycle our fruit waste into a composter in the conservation area. Finally, we are collecting old and broken mobile phones for recycling (www.fones4schools.co.uk). We get money for phones collected and pupils get to choose from a variety of prizes for every phone that they bring in. If you have any phones to offer, please send them in with your child or to the school office.

School Grounds
In coming months we intend to improve our wonderful school grounds further by including a meadow and further hedges to increase the habitat for living creatures.
