| 27/7/11 | The last day of term was a successful one. Lots of parents joined us for the annual governors awards assembly and Liam, Leah, Hannah, Jake, Isabel, Jack and Olivia had the honour of being added to the achievement board in the entrance hall. We would like to wish everybody a good summer and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 6 September. |
| 19/7/11 | Today was Sports Day and- with the weather on our side- all year groups enjoyed a successful day of sportsmanship and fun. |
| 19/7/11 | Year 5 have been rocking out at the Annual Rock and Pop Festival at Birmingham Town Hall! Pupil's enjoyed live performances from a range of groups including our very own CBJS Rock Band. On Sunday, children from Year 6 had performed a selection of songs from The Lion King on the same stage to a large audience. |

| 18/7/11 | Last week Year 6 wowed audiences with their performance of The Lion King. The shows were an amazing success and really showed the talent of the children in acting, singing, dancing, set design, costume, props and advertising. |

It's show time for Year 6! Pupils and staff in Year 6 have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks rehearsing 'The Lion King' and will be treating parents, members of the community and teachers to a sensational performance this week. Photos to follow! |

CBJS are athletics champions once again! Our athletics squad yesterday won the North Solihull Large Schools Athletics Competition. This is the 18th time that CBJS have achieved this, well done to all of the squad. |
| 20/6/11 | We are pleased to announce the arrival of 11 ducklings in our pond area. The mother, who returns to CBJS every year, along with the children and staff, are keeping a close eye on the new arrivals. |

This week is CBJS Charity Week! Children have nominated 3 charities that they would like to raise money for; Shelterbox, Cancer Research UK and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Details of events taking place this week have been sent out in a separate letter. |

Year 5 have been writing scripts this week for BBC's Doctor Who 'Script to Screen competition.' Click here to read the winning entry from Kye and Jack in Year 5, which has been entered on behalf of CBJS. The winning school will watch their script be filmed for the current series! Not wanting to feel left out during Fitness Week, teachers at CBJS participated in a staff rounders match: Year 3/4 vs Year 5/6. It was a close call, with Mr Backhouse scoring 3 rounders for lower school, but Year 5/6 just pipped them to win the match! |

The girls 4-a-side football team were crowned North Solihull Shield Champions on Saturday, competing against 7 other schools in a mini-league, semi-final and final match. The girls beat Bishop Wilson 2-0 in the final to bring the trophy back to CBJS. Congratulations! See photos and match report here. |

| 9/5/11 | 8 boys from Year 5 took part in a 5 aside football tournament this afternoon.The boys put in an excellent performance but just missed out on making it to the final. Special mention to goalkeeper William G for making some superb saves! |
| 8/5/11 | Monday 16th- Friday 20th May is our annual fitness week. Please speak to you child's class teacher if you are able to help with any of the activities or trips during this week. Friday 20th is also our May Fayre with all of the usual stalls and entertainment. |
| 8/5/11 | Two of our children travelled to London to watch the Royal Wedding last week. They took the trip as part of the 1st Castle Bromwich Boys Brigade, allowing them to move ahead of the general public and get the best possible view on The Mall. See some photos here. |
| 8/5/11 | CBJS are County Indoor Athletics Champions, having competed against 9 other teams from across Warwickshire at Coventry Sports Centre in April. The team competed fantastically and represented the school perfectly. |
| 28/4/11 | Pupils, parents and teachers enjoyed a fantastic 'Street Party' to mark the Royal Wedding. The fun-filled afternoon included Maypole dancing, egg and spoon races, sack races and a picnic in the sunshine. Clickhere to see photos! |
| 24/3/11 | Year 5 enjoyed an exciting trip to the National Space Centre today. As well as all of the interactive displays, they were treated to a planetarium show all about the planets in our solar system. |
| 22/3/11 | Year 5 had a special delivery this morning. 12 eggs arrived in school ready to hatch into chicks. The first chick hatched at 12.30 this afternoon, shortly followed by Chick number two. We are looking forward to seeing how many new arrivals are waiting in the morning! |
| 20/3/11 | Year 3 and Year 6 have shared their topic work with their parents this week. Year 3taught their parents about a variety of Chinese traditions and Year 6 invited their visitors to go back in time to WW2. |
| 11/2/11 | Year 6 have been focusing on Conflict and have been working with their creative partner, Alex, as well as their teachers to produce and play didgeridoos, make shadow puppets and to experience life in 1938. |

| 1/2/11 | There will be a special assembly, marking Safer Internet Day on Monday 7th February. Parents are invited to join their children at this event between 9.00 and 9.30 where information and advice helping families to stay safe when using the internet will be given. |

| 1/2/11 | The Netball Skills Team today came 2nd in the North Solihull tournament at North Solihull Sports Centre. Congratulations to the squad on this achievement. |
| 20/1/11 | The indoor athletics team came first in the first round of the Solihull competition at North Solihull Sports Centre today. They will now compete in the Solihull final in February. Well done to the team who, as well as competing fantastically, were a real credit to the school with their sportsmanship and enthusiasm. |
| 4/12/10 | As part of their 'Come Fly With Me' topic, year 6 have made African inspired masks. They have been tasked with promoting tourism in Africa and Thursday 9th December, we are inviting to parents to take flight to Africa with year 6, to see what we have learned. Please come to the school office between 2.30 and 3.00 to take a look. |
| 4/12/10 | The PTA Christmas Fayre yesterday was a huge success. Visiting Father Christmas, having fun at the School Council games, or enjoying a mince pie and drink, there was something for everyone. |
