About Us

The school is at an exciting stage in its development with lots of new intiatives in place and at the planning stage.

We are particularly pleased with: -

  • Achieving the Healthy School Standard in 2007
  • The suppprt we provide for all children within our inclusive framework
  • New initiatives to improve learning and teaching. We have started a new programme called Building Learning Power [BLP]
  • We are tracking pupils' progress much more rigorously and effectively and expect this to feed through into higher standards fairly quickly. This will involve improved communication with parents about children's progress.
  • Our transition arrangements for 2007 which have meant that new children and parents were well prepared for starting here in September.
  • Our new school building and other building developments following two years of challenges associated with the fire in July 2004.
  • A very good team of teachers and support staff.
  • A range of new activities particularly in sport for the children to take part in.
  • The formation of a parent consultation group so that we are in touch with the views of parents and they can contribute to the development of the school
  • Plans to further develop the work of the school council
  • Significant improvements to the outdoor play environment including our supoer grounds project last year.
  • Our thriving PTA committee and helpers who have done a magnificent job in supporting the school over the last two years.
  • Each year group having the opportunity to perform to parents on the stage in the hall.
  • Our very successful Fitness Fortnights with plans for further activities to develop sport and exercise including house sports.
  • The development of this website to communicate with parents and the community and to celebrate our achievements.
  • Arts mark silver and currently going for gold.
  • ECO school activities
  • Active mark 2007
  • Our link with Huizhong Beili No. 2 Primary School in Beijing.
