Home School Agreement

A positive partnership between home and school is essential if our aim of developing children’s full potential is to be achieved.

The school doors are always open to parents who may need to share concerns, observations or even compliments. Your child’s class teacher may be the most appropriate person to contact, but if you wish you can see the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher. It always helps if an appointment can be made, but if the matter is urgent, we will always do our best to see you.

If any issue cannot be resolved by talking to school staff and you have a complaint or concern that needs further investigation, you can contact the Chairman of Governors at the school address.

Every term, parents are invited to meet their child’s teacher to discuss their progress. The meeting in the autumn term is to get to know each other. The spring term is the main evening at which a full progress report is given. The summer term meeting is to discuss your child’s written report.

At the beginning of the autumn term new parents will receive a copy of the Home School Agreement which we hope you will agree with. It outlines the partnership between home and school that will give our children the best possible opportunities at Castle Bromwich Junior School. Parents also receive monthly newsletters detailing events and important information. In addition, every year group produces a termly newsletter with information specific to each year group.

Each year we hold an ‘Inspire Project’ for each year group. Parents are invited into school to take part in special activities with their children. This gives parents the opportunity to experience learning in the school environment alongside their children. This initiative has been enthusiastically received by parents.
