Well Being Week: 23.05.18-25.05.18
The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to keep themselves healthy both physically and mentally. They have completed some super sports activities as well as learning how to have a positive mind set. Some of the activities include:
Tag rugby, Yoga, positive bookmarks, well being hands, dance, table tennis.
As part of our science unit: Classification, the children were able to learn about how animals were classified and the different groups they belonged to. They were also able to handle animals if they wished.
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, we had our very own street party where we ate traditional English food and played traditional games.
We also learnt about the Royal Family and created some family trees.
London and it's landmarks was also a very interesting topic and the children then created leaflets to persuade people to visit our capital city.

Based on our book: Mouse, Bird, Snake, Wolf, we created our own animals out of natural resources we have found around school.

During a spring topic of The Romans, we have investigated Roman mosaics. We looked into the colours and patterns used in mosaics and used this knowledge to create our own. Take a look at the great mosaics that we have created.
Year 4 had a visit from a Roman Soldier today.
They took part in lots of fun activities to develop their knowledge and understanding
of how the Romans lived and what life would have been like for a Roman soldier.
Year 4 have enjoyed visiting the new library and reading all of the new books. It has been great to see so many children enjoying time spend reading.
Year 4 had a visitor into school to discuss the importance of energy and how we can save energy in our homes and school.
Each child was asked to make a promise about how they can help save energy.
Using the text Charlie Small, the children have written their own adventure story and published them into books. The children have shared their stories with year 3. It was very exciting and the children have been really proud of their work. Well done year 4.

CHILDREN IN NEED FUNDRAISER. 14.11.17
Year 4 organised and ran a charity event on the afternoon of 14th November 2017.
The children planned their own stalls and ran them with the support of the adults in their year group.
The rest of the school visited our event and we raised a total of £531 for Children in Need. Well done everyone. A great team effort.
EGYPTIAN ART AFTERNOON 18.10.17
The parents and family members of the children have joined us in school to make an Egyptian cartouche out of clay.
They have been manipulating the clay and make hieroglyphics to spell out their own names.
We all had lots of fun and it was great to see so many adults working with the children.
Golf Taster Day 13.10.17
We have been taught golf by a professional golfer and learnt how to hold the club correctly.
We practised hitting the ball further by swinging our arms higher. Even the teachers joined in.
Space Week 2.10.17-6.10.17
To celebrate space week Year 4 have created their own planet. They presented their ideas in a way of their own choice.

EGYPTIAN DAY! 28.09.17
Year 4 had a wow Egyptian day to kick off their topic, which is based on Ancient Egypt. We had a visitor into school, who taught us lots about how the Egyptians lived. We played some Egyptian games and got to see a dead pharaoh be mummified. It was very exciting! They even pulled the brains out! We took part in a hunting game to see which class were the best hunters and could have survived in Ancient Egypt.
Daily Mile Run Launch 27.09.17
Parents came to join us in the celebration of our daily mile launch.
The daily mile is being used to promote a healthier lifestyle for the children and develop other crucial life skills.
During our topic of electricity, the children learnt how to wire a plug. They were very excited and enjoyed using the equipment.
We had a competition with 10 dojos up for grabs, to see which pair could wire the plug the most successfully.
MUSIC: Autumn 2017
4D and 4S have been learning to play the ukuleles this half term. They have been practising lots to ensure they are ready for their concert.
4B and 4EP have been learning about electricity in music.
ROALD DAHL DAY! 13.09.17
Today we have celebrate Roald Dahl Day across the school. The children dressed up as their favourite characters from his famous stories and learnt lots about the author himself. Here is some work the year 4 children completed in the form of a blog about his life achievements and memories.
